USAJPA Affiliation Program Basics

What is our Mission? Our USAJPA mission is to build connections within the puzzling community, provide resources as needed, and market puzzling events. We are fulfilling our mission by providing these resources to state organizations. And they in turn will build connections and provide resources for local events.

What does it mean to be an affiliate?

  1. Establish Your Own Legal Entity. Create and register your organization as a separate legal entity (nonprofit, LLC, etc.), distinct from the USAJPA.

  2. Once you’ve established your organization and fulfilled all of the requirements, fill out an application to become a USAJPA affiliate

  3. Once reviewed, both parties will sign an Affiliation Agreement

  4. Operate autonomously from the USAJPA, but receive affiliation benefits such as help setting up local programs, getting your organization and events nationally promoted, and access to USAJPA resources, including access to SORT- the USAJPA State Organization Resource Team.

  5. Branding. As part of the affiliation program, your organization can promote that you are “affiliated with the USAJPA” or “in partnership with USAJPA”, but refrain from presenting yourself as a chapter or subdivision of USAJPA.
